Sunday mornings in Columbus look like this for me — a mug of something warm, SZA or Faye Webster playing low in the background, my dark hair still a little messy, and a to-do list I'm absolutely going to reorganize three times before I actually start it. I work as an occupational therapist, which means I spend most of my days helping people rebuild independence and confidence after life throws something hard at them. It's the kind of work that asks a lot, but it also gives a lot back — and I think it says something about who I am that I chose it.

I have strong opinions about most things — music, the right way to make a playlist, whether a movie ending was earned or lazy — and I'll tell you exactly what I think if you ask. Frank Ocean's 'Blonde' is a perfect album. That's not a debate. What I'm less sure about is how to explain the way I love people, which is fully and with a lot of attention. I notice things. I remember things. I care about the details of your life the way some people care about the details of a story they can't put down.
