There's a version of connection I keep reaching for — the kind where two people sit in comfortable silence and somehow say everything. That's what I'm working toward, slowly, carefully, with my guard only half up.

I run a school by day, which surprises people who meet me after hours. Golden hair, light eyes, a shelf full of oddities that don't quite belong together — neither do I, really.
